The Clinton City Fire Department was formed in 1975 with a dozen spirited volunteers under the direction of Fire Chief Lloyd Brown. Two old pumpers (1944 Seagraves and a 1943 Chevy) on loan from the Utah Forestry and Fire Control made up the total fire department. The fire department has grown to 32 Firefighters, 2 class A pumpers, 1 light rescue, 1 brush truck and 3 support vehicles. At the present time there are two full time employees (Fire Chief and one Firefighter) that man the Station from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and the remaining coverage is provided by 30 part-time/on-call firefighters. The fire department provides Fire and EMS service to the Citizens of Clinton and the unincorporated area of Davis County/Hooper. The Fire Prevention Division provides investigations, training, inspections, station tours and Ordinance Enforcement for the City.
The Fire Departement is more involved with our community than by merely responding to emergency calls. They volunteer at local activities and organizations, visit local schools to teach the kids about safety, and even spend countless hours outside local businesses accepting charity donations.
Currently all service is provided out of one main station located at 1906 West 1800 North.
