Parks and Recreation



     Parks: Clinton City has five completed parks with many amenities and other land areas which have been reserved for future parks. Park boweries may be reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis through the city offices for a nominal fee and cleaning deposit. The Community Center, which is located on the northeast end of the Clinton City Park, can also be reserved through the recreation department.

      Clinton City prohibits activities which will endanger the health, safety or welfare of park patrons. Alcoholic beverages, dogs, cats or other household pets, overnight camping, archery, golfing, or horses are NOT allowed in city parks. Smoking is also prohibited within 50 feet of activity areas.

     Recreation: The recreation department is dedicated to providing the citizens of Clinton with positive leisure opportunities. Clinton is well known for its quality youth recreation programs, which emphasize learning, fun, and good sportsmanship. We also have an excellent adult softball program, and the city hosts regional and national softball tournaments at our beautiful softball complex in the Clinton City Park. Listed below are some of the programs which are offered:

  • Adult Softball: Clinton offers ASA sanctioned leagues for men's, women's, and co-ed teams at all levels of play. The city has both summer and fall league programs.
  • Youth Baseball/Softball: Registration begins in March for the summer youth baseball/softball program. Recreational leagues are available for kindergarten through 12th grades for boys and girls.
  • Flag Football: Register in August for the youth flag football program. Clinton City does not have a contact football program but Clinton youth can sign up in Sunset City for contact football.
  • Youth Tackle Football: Registration is in July at the Clinton City Building
    the Sunset City Building. Youth ages 7 - 15 are eligible to play.
  • Jr. Jazz Basketball: The Jr. Jazz basketball program begins in December and is open to all youth, 1st - 12th grades. Registration includes a jersey, ticket to a Utah Jazz game, and admission to the Utah Jazz player appearance/clinic.
  • Kids in the Park: This program is offered during the summer for children between the ages of 6 and 12. Children are involved with creative activities such as arts and crafts, music, hiking, and nature walks, sports and games, as well as weekly field trips.
  • Other Programs: The city offers a variety of summer programs such as tennis lessons, swimming lessons, golf lessons, and tumbling classes.

     Other programs include:

    • Easter Egg Hunt which is held at the Clinton City Park on the Saturday before Easter
    • Halloween Carnival at the Clinton Community Center
    • The annual visit from Santa during December
    • The city's Heritage Days celebration is held during the month of July and includes a week of activities:
      • The Little Buckaroo Rodeo
      • Miss Clinton Pageant
      • Dutch Oven Dinner
      • Golf Tournament
      • 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament
      • Sherman Wayment 5-K Race
      • Breakfast
      • Parade
      • Carnival
      • Entertainment Concert in the Park
      • And Fireworks.

Hunter Safety courses are offered during September, October, and November.

     Senior Citizen Programs includes monthly activities for residents 55 years of age and older. The Seniors program is a great place to meet new friends, socialize, and have fun. If you are 55 or older and would like to receive information on senior events, please contact the recreation department at 774-2666 and request to be placed on the mailing list.
