[ARCHIVED] Denver & Rio Grande Rail Trail Maintenance

Starting Thursday, August 22, Davis County will begin essential maintenance on the Denver & Rio Grande Rail Trail between the Legacy Trail terminus and the Davis/Weber County line. The project includes seal coating and the installation of glow-in-the-dark lane striping—which will be the first trail in the state with this technology.
Here's what you need to know:
  • Sections of the trail will be closed as work progresses, with each section reopening within 24 hours.
  • The county will replace pavement segments where tree roots have caused damage from 750 N in Clearfield to 1550 N in Clinton. The pavement replacement will take place mid to late September, and due to weather, seal coating on the newly paved sections may be delayed until spring 2025.
  • The lane striping is scheduled for September 14 & 15 (overnight, starting at 10 p.m.).
Tentative Seal Coating Schedule:
Day 1: Thursday, August 22
Day 2: Monday, August 26
Day 3: Wednesday, August 28
Day 4: Thursday, August 29
Day 5: Friday, August 30 (work begins in Clinton City)

Please respect the closures and detours during this time. Signage will be in place to guide you to alternate routes.
